A health organization in London is seeking a Senior Clinical Fellow in Obstetrics & Gynaecology. The successful candidate will gain experience in gynaecological oncology skills and contribute to both clinical practice and governance. This an exciting opportunity for an experienced, dynamic and well-motivated doctor to join our busy unit with interest in developing gynaecological oncology skills and aptitude.
There is the opportunity to support the candidate gain experience in the Royal College of O&G core curriculum along with Gynaecological oncology SITM. Educational and Clinical supervision will be provided, and the candidate will be encouraged to engage with the eportfolio to document training competencies. In addition to clinical experience, there is the opportunity to develop teaching skills due to the close links to King's College London School of Medicine. Further opportunities will include participation in clinical governance processes, patient tracking list management, Gynaecological oncology MDTs and presentation of audit projects.
The appointee will be expected to participate fully in the department with opportunity to attend Gynaecological Oncology specialist clinics and gain additional skills while working closely with gynaecological oncology team. These opportunities include:
Rapid access clinics
Priority gynaceology clinics
Transvaginal scan
Colposcopy clinic
Vulval clinics
Theatre sessions with oncology team.
Leading gynaecology MDT
Audit and Research opportunities
The appointment is a full-time post on permanent contract.
The opportunities for teaching and training will be the same as for the other Specialist Registrars within the Department. Applicants should have MBBS, MRCOG Part 3 completed and be registered with the GMC along with significant experience in NHS.
The successful candidate will participate in the 1:8 full shift rota providing cover for both Obstetrics and Gynaecology in a three-tier system. The night on-call team comprises an SHO , two registrars and a Consultant. The consultant is resident from 0800 - 2200 to support high-quality care and outstanding training opportunities.
