A leading NHS hospital in London is seeking an Endometriosis and MAS fellow to manage patient care and participate in a cutting-edge robotic gynaecology programme. The role involves clinical responsibilities, engaging in training courses, and participating in academic research. Ideal candidates have a medical degree and prior experience in medical education. Diverse teams are encouraged to apply.
Chelsea & Westminster’s Robotic Gynaecology programme is a vanguard programme for benign robotic gynaecological surgery. It is used as a reference site across Europe and beyond for how an NHS hospital high-efficiency robotic total practice programme should deliver for both patients and the public purse.
We are a BSGE Endometriosis Centre and the NHS Endometriosis tertiary referral hub for the North West London sector. This makes us one of the largest single centres for endometriosis care in the UK.
The Endometriosis and MAS fellow will undertake the 3rd tier of our three-tier on-call rota. Outside of this, they will join our minimally invasive group and become a core member of the team. They will be responsible end-to-end for patient care in the endometriosis pathway, working alongside fellows and consultants. Our training begins with integration into the team, the programme, and operating room setup. Within four months, the fellow is expected to complete our technical training and simulation programme and start console-surgeon work.
In addition to their clinical role, the successful candidate will be actively involved in organizing and coordinating multiple minimal access training courses within the department, collaborating closely with faculty. Prior experience in medical education and training is strongly desired, along with an open and enthusiastic personality to motivate delegates and work with medical industry support. Surgical videos (laparoscopic, robotic, open) are integral to our training.
Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is one of England's top-performing and safest trusts, operating two main acute hospital sites—Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital—and award-winning clinics across North West London. Our nearly 7,500 staff care for a diverse population of 1.5 million, providing comprehensive clinical services, including maternity, A&E, children’s services, and specialist HIV and sexual health clinics. We are rated 'Good' by the Care Quality Commission in safety, effectiveness, care, and responsiveness, and 'Outstanding' in leadership and resource use.
We continually invest in our facilities, including a £30m expansion of critical care at Chelsea and Westminster and an £80m Ambulatory Diagnostic Centre at West Middlesex.
We are committed to equal opportunities and value diversity, encouraging applications from individuals of all backgrounds, including those from the global majority, veterans, and underrepresented communities. We believe diverse teams drive innovation and excellence, and we strive to create an environment where all voices are heard, respected, and empowered.
If you haven’t heard from us within three weeks of the closing date, your application was likely unsuccessful. Employment is subject to a six-month probationary period.
