Job description
Overview

The Health Board wishes to appoint a fixed term Senior Clinical Fellow to join the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB), the largest Health Board in Wales, until 4 August 2026. This 12-month post (extendable if required) will be based in a well-supported environment within a friendly rural district general hospital, covering a rural area the size of Greater London. There are unique challenges in delivering high quality health care to this diverse population, and we are seeking a highly motivated team player to join a dynamic team of doctors, nurses and allied health professionals.

Bangor Hospital is located between Snowdonia National Park and the coastline of Anglesey, offering access to outdoor activities while being within easy reach of Chester/M6 and London by train.

Responsibilities
  • Provide ward cover as part of a busy clinical team.
  • Access to twice weekly endoscopy lists and outpatient clinics.
  • Weekly protected time for administrative and professional activities.
  • This role is suitable for those gaining experience before applying for specialist training.
Qualifications and requirements
  • To practice medicine in the UK you must hold GMC registration and a licence to practise.
  • These posts do not have educational approval from the Postgraduate Dean and are not recognised for training, but appropriate educational supervision will be provided.
  • The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; applications from Welsh and/or English speakers are welcome.
