A leading healthcare provider in London is seeking a Senior Clinical Fellow to focus on diabetes and endocrinology. The role offers extensive clinical experience in a teaching hospital environment, coordinated care delivery, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Applicants must possess substantial clinical experience in D&E, with current UK registration being necessary.
Job summary: This post is based in the Department of Diabetes & Endocrinology at Guy's & St. Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. The department provides comprehensive general and speciality services for all aspects of diabetes, endocrinology, lipids, metabolic disorders for both outpatients and inpatients at GSTT.
Main duties of the job: This is a one-year fixed term post allowing the post-holder to focus on developing skills and experience in all aspects of endocrinology and diabetes in a teaching hospital setting. The department has over 13 Consultants involved in the delivery of care to all aspects endocrinology and diabetes serving a large, urban secondary and tertiary population.
About us: The Dept of diabetes and endocrinology employs over 100 people, including 13+ consultants and provides comprehensive care to all categories of patients with endocrine disorders. GSTT has outstanding resources and is a leading endocrine centre in the UK and Internationally.
This is a full-time clinical post, providing total immersion in D&E with no GIM commitment. The senior clinical fellows provide a very important role in coordinating the delivery of care in D&E. The post-holder will work alongside the full multidisciplinary team, providing predominantly outpatient & day centre activities (community and inpatient working rarely) in D&E, lipids and obesity.
Clinical experience: Substantial clinical experience in D&E is essential. CCT, MD, PhD or equivalent is desirable.
Personal skills: Ability to coordinate and deliver MDMs is essential. Well developed team working skills are desirable.
Expertise: Defined area of interest or expertise in D&E is essential. Contribution to guidelines, service improvement or published work is desirable.
UK Registration: Applicants must have current UK professional registration.
