Job overview
Two advanced Hepatology full-time fully-funded Fellowships are available at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. They are designed to complement the existing hepatology and gastroenterology service and offer advanced training in hepatology. These posts involve months as an advanced Hepatology Fellow, including clinics, MDT meetings, liver histology, and inpatient reviews. The fellowships aim to develop broad subspecialist hepatology knowledge, including viral, immune-mediated, and metabolic liver diseases, pre- and post-transplant. The role includes clinical and academic sessions weekly, with some flexibility in endoscopy sessions, which may require working on a Saturday. The John Radcliffe Hospital provides integrated services with Horton General Hospital.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will contribute to out-of-hours hepatology and gastroenterology cover, as well as emergency endoscopy and ward referrals, providing opportunities to manage inpatient referrals and variceal hemorrhage.
Working for our organisation
Supervision will be provided by Dr. Emma Culver (Fellowship Programme Director), Dr. Jeremy Cobbold (Hepatology Lead), or their nominated colleagues. The department has strong clinical and research expertise, supporting active clinical and translational research, including several subspecialty clinics and ongoing trials.
