Job summary

Highmark Health seeks an experienced informaticist to promote understanding, integration, and use of healthcare data to support scholarly research and business challenges. You will design fit-for-purpose data sets and analytic solutions, liaising between physicians and researchers to translate data needs and interpret analytic findings.

You will combine healthcare knowledge with clinical data, develop rules for clinical domains, and contribute to real-time analytics, NLP, and AI/ML initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in health informatics or related field
• 5 years of working in a clinical care setting (ambulatory, hospital, post-acute)
• 3 years hands-on experience with Electronic Health Record systems (EPIC, Cerner, Allscripts)
• 3 years in Clinical Workflow, Clinical Systems and related data used for clinical decision making
• 3 years in Data Analysis, Analytics, Business Intelligence or Reporting
• 1+ years working with healthcare claims data

Responsibilities

• Combine healthcare knowledge with clinical data to deliver enterprise-grade data and analytic solutions
• Provide SME for clinical vocabularies and code sets for cross-system interoperability
• Assist with development of business rules and code-based definitions for clinical data domains
• Collaborate with health plan, clinical, administrative and IT teams to understand data needs and deliver analytics solutions
• Design, build and deploy robust analytic data solutions including real-time analytics, data integration, NLP and AI/ML implementations
• Provide clinical process and system training
• Other duties as assigned or requested
