Job summary

Exmoor National Park Authority is seeking a Senior Climate Change Officer on a fixed-term two-year contract. The role requires leading climate initiatives, aligning them with the National Park Management Plan, and coordinating a programme across a diverse set of partners including farmers, land managers and local communities.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering climate change, sustainability, environmental or land management projects.
• Experience working with stakeholders including farmers, land managers, communities, businesses and public bodies.
• Experience in protected landscapes or National Parks.
• Experience planning climate adaptation measures for estates or communities.
• Experience preparing funding bids or managing externally funded projects.
• Experience designing and delivering workshops, training, or public engagement.
• Degree-level qualification or equivalent in climate change, environmental science, sustainability, geography, ecology, or related discipline

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of climate change initiatives to help Exmoor reach net zero and increase resilience.
• Coordinate the climate change programme within the National Park Management Plan.
• Lead delivery of Exmoor’s Climate Adaptation Plan with farmers, land managers and communities.
• Identify climate risks and develop practical solutions; support emissions reduction across operations.
• Develop climate adaptation plans for the estate and review the Local Plan.
• Produce guidance, communications and engagement materials; develop demonstration projects and case studies.
• Identify funding opportunities and support bids and business cases
