We are seeking a Senior Account Handler (Underwriter) in our Commercial Schemes division to support our Rural Team. This role focuses on rural/farming clients and is ideal for someone experienced with High Net Worth or Commercial insurance, Delegated Authorities, or Rural clients. Knowledge of Acturis is a plus.

This is a full-time, permanent role based in our Bedford office, with an expectation of being onsite about 2 days a week and occasional client visits.

Responsibilities include:

  • Achieving client retention through excellent service
  • Collaborating with Account Executives on renewal strategies
  • Conducting market exercises for competitive terms
  • Presenting renewal offers to clients
  • Issuing renewal documentation
  • Processing adjustments and collecting premiums
  • Producing reports and summaries
  • Ensuring premiums are collected before coverage begins
  • Recording information accurately on Acturis and managing diaries

Success factors:

  • At least 2 years’ experience as an underwriter or account handler with HNW or commercial products
  • Experience with Delegated Authority or Rural Clients preferred
  • Knowledge of Acturis advantageous
  • Attention to detail and efficiency
  • Strong prioritization and deadline management
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and client service skills

Qualifications:

  • 5 GCSEs including Maths and English at grade C or above (or equivalent)
