Job summary

Michael Page in West Yorkshire seeks a Senior Client Manager for a high-profile independent accountancy practice. You will oversee key client relationships, guide accounting and tax work, and ensure service excellence across a varied portfolio.

You will supervise at least four accountants, prepare accounts from full or partial records, and deliver company and personal tax returns while driving efficiency and staff development.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualification is required.
• 15+ years’ UK-based experience in a qualified firm of accountants.
• Strong staff supervision and leadership capabilities.
• Proficient in accounts preparation for Sole Traders, Ltd Companies, LLPs and partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with clients at a senior level and manage their expectations.
• Supervise a minimum of four accountants and review their work.
• Prepare accounts from incomplete or computerised records.
• Carry out company and personal tax return preparation.
• Manage your own client portfolio and optimise efficiency.

As a Senior Client Manager in West Yorkshire within an strong independent accountancy practice, you'll oversee key client relationships, ensuring their accounting and finance needs are met efficiently. Your role will involve managing a portfolio of clients, providing strategic advice, and supporting their financial goals, as well as regularly organising staff to achieve greater efficiency and productivity.

Description

As a Senior Client Manager, you will:

• Liaise with clients at a senior partner level
• Supervise the work of a minimum of four accountants
• Accounts preparation from both incomplete records and computerised records
• Carry out company and personal tax return preparation
• Manage your own portfolio
• Review the work of other employees
• Liaise with clients on all accounting matters
• Carry out client visits
• Other ad-hoc projects as they rise

Profile

A successful Senior Client Manager must have:

• ACA or ACCA qualification
• A minimum of 15 years' recent experience within a UK based, qualified firm of accountants
• Management accounts experience
• Excellent working knowledge of accounts preparation for a range of businesses including Sole Traders, Ltd Companies and Partnerships, including LLPs
• Ability to prepare accounts to a high standard
• Ability to use own initiative, to work under pressure and to deadlines
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• A good working knowledge of accounting software, preferably CCH, Sage and Xero
• A good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
