A well-established accounting firm in Northampton is seeking a Senior Accounts Manager. In this full-time position, you will manage client relationships, oversee accounts and audits, and support junior staff. The ideal candidate should have experience with key accounting software and excellent communication skills. Qualifications

Job Title: Senior Accounts ManagerLocation: NorthamptonSalary: Competitive, based on experience and qualificationsHours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per weekWorking Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:15 – 16:15 (30-minute lunch break)Holiday Entitlement: 22 days plus bank holidays per year, increasing by one day annually after two full years of service (capped at an additional 10 days)

Key Responsibilities

Client & Staff Management

  • Review of accounts, corporation tax, personal tax, and audit work completed by the accounts team
  • Review of bookkeeping, VAT returns, and management accounts prepared by the bookkeeping team
  • Supervision and support of junior accounts staff
  • Identification of training needs for junior team members through work review
  • Job planning for sole traders, partnerships, limited companies, and charities
  • Liaising with clients to discuss and approve draft accounts
  • Managing audit processes from planning (by others) through to completion
  • Supervising audit staff during assignments
  • Handling written and telephone correspondence with clients, HMRC, and other stakeholders

Client Relations

  • Building and maintaining strong, effective relationships with clients
  • Ensuring clear and professional communication at all times

Practice Development

  • Identifying opportunities to introduce additional services to existing clients

General Duties

  • Performing any other reasonable duties as required
