Job summary

AJ Chambers in Stanmore seeks an experienced Client Accountant to own a client portfolio, build strong relationships and contribute beyond the numbers. You will be instrumental in delivering accurate accounts and tax services across a range of clients.

Responsibilities include preparing company, self-employed and rental accounts, company and personal tax returns, HMRC liaison, VAT and MTD support, plus onboarding and engagement documentation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ UK accountancy practice experience.
• Proven experience managing a portfolio of clients.
• Confident and professional communication skills.
• Excellent organization and deadline management.
• Comfortable dealing directly with clients and HMRC.
• A proactive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and reviewing Company, Self-Employed and Rental Accounts.
• Preparing Company & Personal Tax Returns.
• Handling HMRC queries, tax enquiries and general tax matters.
• Reviewing VAT returns and supporting MTD.
• Preparing accounts and tax packs for approval and submission.
• Supporting new client onboarding, fee proposals and engagement letters.
• Providing general tax advice, including R&D, ATED and CGT.
