The role will allow and require you to demonstrate your experience of multi-disciplinary working and be committed to working closely with colleagues from other disciplines.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join us as a clerical officer. This is a vital position within the team, involving operation of departmental systems, including databases and spreadsheet applications for accurate data input, collation, and retrieval. You will also assist with searches on computerised service user information systems and collate standard reports as needed.

This fast-paced role includes activities such as:

  1. Gathering assessment information from health professionals and inputting it into the client database
  2. Inputting assessments and care plans
  3. Stock control of protective clothing, equipment, and stationery
  4. Checking invoices related to stationery orders, uniforms, etc., and passing them to finance
  5. Maintaining filing systems for efficient document retrieval
  6. Typing letters, memoranda, forms, and photocopying
  7. Organising, preparing, and minute-taking for meetings
  8. Receiving and preparing outgoing mail
  9. Responding professionally and courteously to queries from the public, council employees, and outside agencies, using initiative to resolve issues
  10. Maintaining confidentiality at all times
  11. Providing cover for other team members as required
  12. Handling telephone enquiries appropriately
Skills & Experience Required

Knowledge & Experience

  • Relevant experience in an office environment
  • Numeracy skills; knowledge of budgets is beneficial
  • Experience with computer software packages; familiarity with departmental scheduling systems and MOSAIC is advantageous
  • Experience working in a local authority setting is a plus
