Senior Claims Lead - Professional Liability

Job summary

Beazley is seeking an experienced London Market claims professional to manage a diverse portfolio of specialty claims, with a primary focus on professional liability for Large Client and Specialist Risks insureds in the US, UK, and RoW, including large and specialist law firms, architects and engineers, and other non-medical professional liability risks.

The role will also involve a smaller proportion of time handling Transactional Risk / Representations & Warranties Insurance and Environmental

Qualifications

• At least four years of experience managing specialty insurance claims, including London Market professional indemnity claims in the US, UK and RoW.
• Legal training or technical claims experience applying liability analysis, reserving judgement, and settlement negotiation skills.
• Functional knowledge of claims management, the US and RoW insurance markets, and regulatory environments.
• Experience with Transactional Risk / Representations & Warranties Insurance or Environmental Liability is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead individual claims from notification to closure with appropriate involvement per claim.
• Adhere to Beazley’s Claims Reserving Philosophy and Standards.
• Develop and execute claims strategies considering uncertainties and costs.
• Understand and implement Beazley’s Conduct Risk Policy.
• Manage an insurance claims portfolio, reviewing claims and maintaining reserves.
• Communicate material claims to Reinsurance and Finance as required.
• Work with Reinsurance to effect claims recoveries.
• Identify claims trends and communicate potential portfolio impacts.
• Provide input on policy wording improvements.
