Job description

Our client, a large Lloyds Broker, is seeking a Claims Technician to join their expanding Housing/Property Claims team in the Essex office. The role involves managing and handling Property and Liability claims.

Main Duties:
  1. Manage a caseload of claims on a delegated authority basis from cradle to grave.
  2. Advise and update clients about relevant events and discussions during their claim.
  3. Assess the status of claims regularly with clients, insurers, and their advisers or solicitors, including updating them on new information.
  4. Provide technical advice to clients throughout the claims process.
  5. Show compassion, manage client expectations effectively, and encourage positive client relationships.
  6. Maintain and develop knowledge of market, insurance, legislation, and technical aspects.
  7. Run claims efficiently and ensure the system is updated with all relevant information.
  8. Ensure claims statistics are accurate and produced in accordance with SLAs.
Essential Skills:
  • Experience handling Commercial Claims, such as Property or Liability.
  • Experience in the insurance industry with a focus on commercial claims handling.
  • Strong client service orientation, forward planning, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, task-focused, and eager to develop your career.
Desirable:
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Cert CII or Dip CII qualification is desirable.
Additional Information:
  • Permanent role based in Chelmsford, Essex, with options for remote or hybrid work (1-2 days in-office).
  • Salary up to £36,000.
