Position Title: Senior Claims Broker, Reinsurance & Cargo STP – 12 Month FTC

Summary of Position:

To handle all aspects of Reinsurance and Cargo STP claims, from initial advice to settlement, as directed by your Head of Department. The role requires a proven Claims professional with prior experience in handling Reinsurance claims, ideally with some exposure to Cargo STP.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

1. Manage own accounts & liaise with Brokers, account handlers & Clients regularly
2. Create and maintain claims files
3. Input document details into the in-house system
4. Assess and process claims and premiums
5. Produce and send advice and collection documentation
6. Handle advices and collections with the London Market where appropriate
7. Obtain agreement to advices and collections via CLASS/ECF/LORS system
8. Liaise with the Insurance Accounts Department to ensure prompt payments of claims
9. Produce accurate statistics as required
10. Address market, client, and internal queries
11. Conduct business meetings with clients and reinsurers
12. Adhere to company and regulatory policies, procedures, and mandatory training requirements
13. Maintain and enhance knowledge of the insurance marketplace, trends, and cycles
14. Develop and manage relationships with market representatives such as Underwriters, Surveyors, Adjusters, and Lawyers
15. Monitor existing book of business to identify threats or weaknesses early
16. Demonstrate excellent technical knowledge and communicate effectively
17. Exhibit persuasive and influencing skills
18. Maintain client-facing and customer-focused approach with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
19. Possess excellent IT and organizational skills
