Job Description: Senior Claims Analyst

How does this role contribute to our collective success?

AXIS is seeking a Senior Claims Analyst, International Claims to join our Claims Shared Services team. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide timely, accurate, and relevant reporting, analytical, and operational support services to the Claims function. This role involves working closely with the Claims Management Information and Operations teams, offshore teams, claims adjusters, and other business areas, including North America.

What will you do in this role?

  1. Work with various database extracts to deliver information using Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Power BI.
  2. Support the production of MI and Regulatory Returns on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc basis.
  3. Prepare governance papers for committees such as the Insurance International Claims Committee, Risk Committee, and Portfolio Packs by providing data, analysis, deep dive investigations, and clear messaging to stakeholders.
  4. Display information clearly using tables, graphs, charts, and reports, aligned with AXIS branding and Data Policy.
  5. Review and update existing Reporting & Process notes, and create detailed instructions that are easy to follow.
  6. Facilitate and support the offshoring of reports and conduct regular reviews of offshored reports.
  7. Analyze data, identify trends, and undertake root cause and deep dive analyses of claims using internal and market databases (e.g., Lloyd’s CRS, Insights Hub, COAD, ECF2, IMR, IRIS, RiskWrite, Dynamics, DOCOsoft).
  8. Work cross-functionally to gather data and non-data inputs to derive actionable insights.
  9. Suggest control measures based on findings during daily tasks.
  10. Operate effectively in a dynamic environment, analyzing data and proposing practical, forward-looking ideas to drive success.
  11. Support the broader operational claims function and claim handlers, resolving queries as needed.
  12. Assist with claims data initiatives to ensure data quality and messaging meet international and global requirements.
  13. Participate in market initiatives like Faster Claims Payments, BluePrint2, and Gemini, including testing and report building.
  14. Ensure all activities comply with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  15. Promptly notify relevant parties of risks or control failures.
  16. Participate in audits by providing documentation and assisting with process walk-throughs.
  17. Contribute to the ongoing development of the Claims function to improve operational efficiency and meet business needs.

What you need to have:

  • Degree in a numerical or analytical discipline.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
  • Ability to navigate internal databases such as IRIS, RiskWrite, Swordfish, Dynamics.

What we prefer you to have:

  • Experience in Lloyd’s / London Market insurance, especially in specialty markets and claims processes.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and delivering solutions.
  • Knowledge of Lloyd’s systems such as CRS, Insights Hub, Class, ECF2, IMR, DOCOsoft.
  • Ability to solve problems independently in a continuous improvement environment.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools (training provided if needed).
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to identify and escalate issues proactively.
