What Is the Opportunity?

Travelers is looking for a Senior Claim Professional to join our team based in either our London, Manchester or Redhill office. We are looking for someone with strong experience in the Lloyd's market, specifically handling claims over $100k (USD) in the Power, Utilities, and Renewables sectors. In this role you will play a pivotal role in providing market-leading expert claim handling. You will be at the forefront of investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and resolution of complex claims, ensuring adherence to the Company's policies, procedures, best practices, and controls at all times.

Travelers Europe currently offers flexibility to employees who wish to work on a hybrid basis in accordance with our Hybrid Work Arrangements Policy. This entails full time employees working three days a week in the office and two days at home (or pro rata for part-time employees). This policy may be changed at the Company’s discretion.

This role is eligible for a £2500 new joiner bonus. If you are successfully referred by an employee at Travelers Europe, both you and the person who referred you could be eligible for this bonus.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Manage and handle a diverse portfolio of complex and often large claims arising from assigned lines of business.
  2. Provide market leading claim service working closely with the Claim management team and the broader business to deliver and enhance the claim offering.
  3. Collaborate with Underwriting and Actuarial partners on portfolio, risk mitigation, policy language, and claim trends.
  4. Partner with Underwriting to sell and market business and strengthen external client relationships.
  5. Open new claims and set reserves; carry out early investigations regarding policy coverage, liability, and quantum and provide legal assistance as necessary.
  6. Negotiate settlement of claims and communicate promptly on coverage.
  7. Ensure vendors provide a market leading, cost effective service by continually monitoring their performance, cost, and quality.
  8. Maintain a close working liaison with underwriters and risk management, promoting the interests of Travelers where appropriate.
  9. Attend to the Insureds and Brokers, promoting the values of the department and the company.
  10. Work as a team member providing support as required and participate in individual and shared project work.
  11. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  1. Significant experience and sound judgment handling claims within assigned line(s) of business.
  2. Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English.
Education, Work Experience, & Knowledge
  1. Lloyds and/or London market experience preferred.
  2. Strong technical background and expertise with proven track record to manage complex claims, key client accounts, addressing trends and issues affecting their business and mitigating risks and exposures.
  3. Product expertise within the particular lines of business assigned preferred.
Licensing or Certificates
  1. ACII qualification preferred.
  2. Certificate in London Market Insurance preferred.
