Job summary

AFECO is recruiting a Senior Civils Design Engineer to lead civil design for water and wastewater projects in the UK. Based in Havant, you will deliver technically robust designs, mentor junior engineers, and work across multidisciplinary teams to ensure regulatory compliance and value for money.

You will collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical and process teams while ensuring H&S and CDM compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering (BEng/MEng) or equivalent.
• Significant experience in civil design within the water/wastewater sector.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of hydraulic structures and pipework.

Responsibilities

• Lead the civil design of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including treatment works, pumping stations, pipelines, tanks and structures.
• Produce and check detailed civil design deliverables (calculations, drawings, specs, schedules, reports).
• Ensure designs meet standards and CDM regulations; provide input during feasibility, outline and detailed design stages.
• Review outputs from junior engineers and mentor graduate/intermediate engineers.
