An established industry player is seeking a skilled CAD Designer to join their civil and structural department. This role offers the opportunity to work on gas pipeline projects, producing detailed 2D and 3D designs while collaborating with a dynamic team. Role can be outside IR35 on assessment. 3 days in Office, 12 Month work.
Working within a team, but often with minimal supervision or guidance, the fundamental requirement of this role is to produce CAD design deliverables, including 3D models, technical drawings and sketches for gas pipeline projects in the civil and structural department. Taking responsibility for working independently or leading a team on project sub tasks. Designs are communicated effectively to the BIM teams, other disciplines, construction personnel and stakeholders. Providing support and guidance to less experienced team members. Helping to develop processes and drive efficiencies within the CAD team.
Based in Manchester with occasional attendance required for site visits, design reviews and client meetings.
Prepare preliminary and detailed designs in 2D/3D for civil and structural, temporary and permanent works as requested by Principal or Lead Engineers and Designers.
Use a range of software including but not limited to Aveva E3D, Autodesk AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Revit and Bentley Microstation and AECOsim/Openbuildings Designer.
Work within a Common Data Environment (typically ProjectWise)
