A little more about your role

You will be an enthusiastic Senior Engineer supporting our regional Development Team in Manchester, focusing on civil engineering for development infrastructure. Your responsibilities include supporting design and drawings for construction projects, technical reports for masterplanning, and engaging with multiple projects and clients. You will report to a senior team member and will be supported by experienced technical staff. Your role involves client engagement, stakeholder management, design team liaison, and project management, ensuring projects meet budget, programme, standards, and legal requirements.

  • Support concept studies/strategies with hands-on design, leading to planning applications and technical approvals.
  • Contribute to various development projects across sectors and clients.
  • Manage multiple projects and client accounts simultaneously.
  • Provide guidance to technical staff.
  • Engage with clients, stakeholders, and design teams, and manage project approvals.
  • Ensure project delivery aligns with budgets, timelines, and standards.

What we look for

  • Experience in highway/roads design, drainage, flood risk, utilities, and UK development industry knowledge.
  • Understanding of hydraulics, hydrology, geotechnics, and construction stages is desirable.
  • Ability to produce infrastructure masterplans, reports, calculations, and drawings.
  • Knowledge of relevant design codes and ability to prepare contract drawings and documentation.
  • Awareness of climate change and sustainability guidance.
  • Proficiency with software like InfoDrainage, Civils 3D, or PDS.
  • Experience liaising with clients, authorities, and design teams for approvals.
  • Understanding of legal, planning, design, and contract procedures for development projects.
  • Knowledge of financial and contractual aspects of project delivery.
