Job description

We have an opening for a Senior Civil Infrastructure Engineer to join our client's busy Cambridge office. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with 4+ years of postgraduate experience in Civil Infrastructure, looking to work on UK and global projects.

You can expect to work on projects involving public/private sector land promoters, house builders, developers, signature architects, government, and local authorities. The multidisciplinary services include civil engineering, highways design, earthworks strategies, utilities, energy planning, drainage, flood risk, SuDS, site appraisal, due diligence, and strategic planning advice.

The role

  • Support and guide a team of experienced and developing technical staff of various grades
  • Engage with high-profile clients, manage stakeholders, liaise with design teams internally and externally, and oversee project management
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet technical and legal standards
  • Support concept studies, strategies, and design leading to planning applications, technical approvals, and construction drawings
  • Contribute to development projects across sectors and clients
  • Manage multiple multidisciplinary projects and client accounts concurrently

What you need to succeed

  • Experience in highway design, drainage, flood risk, utilities, and knowledge of the development industry
  • Understanding of hydraulics, hydrology, geotechnics, and construction stages
  • Ability to produce masterplans, site appraisals, reports, calculations, and drawings
  • Knowledge of relevant design codes and experience preparing contract documentation and approvals
  • Awareness of climate change and sustainability guidance
  • Proficiency with relevant software such as InfoDrainage, Civils 3D, PDS
  • Experience liaising with clients, authorities, and design teams to secure approvals
  • Knowledge of legal, planning, and contractual processes related to infrastructure provision
  • Postgraduate or equivalent experience, nearing Chartership or with similar responsibility
