Job summary

The Clancy Group is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead the estimating process on civil engineering and infrastructure projects in the Harefield area. The role involves pricing highways, earthworks, drainage, structures, utilities and related works, collaborating with bid teams to ensure accurate, competitive submissions.

You will have a strong NEC contract background, extensive Excel skills and experience with Conquest, Causeway or Candy. A full UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years estimating experience in civil engineering, infrastructure or related construction sectors.
• Experience pricing complex projects for main contractors, subcontractors or specialist civil engineering entities.
• Strong ability to interpret drawings, specs and client requirements.

Responsibilities

• Review tender documents, drawings, specs, pricing schedules and client requirements.
• Attend site visits to understand project scope and delivery requirements.
• Prepare first-principle estimates for self-delivered civil works.
• Develop production rates, resource requirements, methodologies and programme assumptions.
• Coordinate supplier and subcontractor enquiries and review quotations.
• Identify tender risks, opportunities and key assumptions.
• Prepare tender documentation and supporting reports for governance and client submission.
• Support tender adjudications and handovers to delivery teams.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior estimators and assistants.
