Job summary

Arup is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer in Southampton to lead multidisciplinary projects from inception to delivery. You will work with engineers and technicians, manage resources, develop high-quality deliverables, and support business development while nurturing a collaborative, inclusive culture.

You should be Chartered or Incorporated, with strong communication and leadership skills and a track record of successful delivery in UK and international contexts.

Qualifications

• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (ICE or equivalent).
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary civil engineering projects in the UK or internationally.

Responsibilities

• Manage multidisciplinary engineering projects, plan resources and monitor commercial performance.
• Lead preparation and review of technical deliverables (drawings, reports, specifications, presentations).
• Line manage engineers and technicians, conduct appraisals and performance development.
• Support culture, equity and inclusion in the team and wider organisation.
• Contribute to technical training and continuous quality improvement.
• Contribute to growth plans through involvement in business development and client relationships.
