The UK is undergoing a once-in-a-generation transformation of its energy, water and infrastructure systems. At Arup, we're helping clients deliver the projects and programmes that will support a more sustainable, resilient and prosperous future. The challenges facing infrastructure today require bold thinking, collaborative leadership and a commitment to positive change.
Arup's Civil Engineering team is looking to recruit a Senior Civil Engineer to join our growing Infrastructure team in the Liverpool office, supporting a diverse portfolio of projects across the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to nationally significant infrastructure across the energy, water and transportation sectors, alongside regional and local projects that improve connectivity, resilience and quality of life for communities.
As a Senior Civil Engineer, you'll lead the development and delivery of civil engineering design solutions across a range of complex infrastructure projects, including site layouts, drainage, earthworks, access and utilities. The role spans the full project lifecycle, from feasibility and concept design through to detailed design and construction support, helping to deliver practical, sustainable and innovative solutions for our clients.
Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients, contractors and technical specialists, you’ll coordinate design packages, manage technical interfaces and oversee the preparation and review of calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports. The position also involves contributing to project planning, programme and commercial performance, while providing technical guidance and mentoring junior engineers.
As part of Arup's wider UK and global network, you'll collaborate with specialists across civil engineering, energy, environmental, planning and digital disciplines. You'll also help promote quality, innovation and continuous improvement, supporting the use of BIM, digital engineering and data-led design to deliver sustainable and resilient infrastructure for the future.
We are looking for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, leading the delivery of high-quality designs and working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
