Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley is recruiting a Senior Civil Engineer to work on major water and wastewater schemes from feasibility to construction. You will shape civil design across lifecycle, ensuring designs meet current standards and integrate with other disciplines.

You will collaborate with commercial, operations and construction teams, coach engineers and support development toward chartership, with travel across sites within your region. The role emphasizes safety, quality and delivery.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Chartership (CEng) with a relevant Engineering Institution.
  • Experience of delivering high quality outputs in accordance with design, quality and safety standards.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Methodical approach to problem solving.
  • A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across your operational region.
  • Water/wastewater experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Providing design support and guidance for schemes and ensuring designs are fit for purpose and meet current legislation and standards.
  • Working closely with commercial, operational and construction teams to develop efficient, practical and safe solutions during design, construction and beyond.
  • Positively engage with the client, managing relationships and adopting a one-team approach to support their aims.
  • Managing interfaces and integration of the civil design with other disciplines and production of documentation.
  • Acting as technical checker on project documents, and undertaking technical reviews for projects across teams.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve delivery processes including development and implementation of standard designs, sustainable solutions, and digital tools.
  • Undertaking site reviews to ensure buildability of solutions and integration within existing systems.
  • Supporting the development of the civil engineering team, coaching and mentoring engineers to develop their skill set.

As a Senior Civil Engineer you'll work on projects that make a real difference to our environment and our communities

  • enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of water and wastewater treatment systems.
  • You will play a pivotal role in shaping the civil functions throughout the lifecycle of various projects.
The role of a Senior Civil Engineer includes:
  • Providing design support and guidance for schemes and ensuring all designs are fit for purpose and meet current legislation and standards
