Job summary

Strata Construction Consulting UK Ltd in Cardiff is seeking a Principal Civil Engineer to lead civil/infrastructure design projects. You will manage workload, mentor junior staff, and liaise with clients to confirm scope and deliverables.

The role requires Chartered Engineer status (ICE) or equivalent and 5+ years of relevant experience, with a focus on drainage design and regulatory applications. Hybrid/flexible working is offered, along with development support and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Civil engineering degree required.
• Chartered Engineer (ICE) or equivalent experience beneficial.
• 5+ years' experience in civil/infrastructure design.

Responsibilities

• Manage project workload to meet deadlines.
• Support team with design delivery.
• Design drainage networks and sectional solutions.
• Prepare layouts in AutoCAD with technicians.
• Produce FRAs, pre-planning advice & planning docs.
• Guide junior staff and develop solutions.
• Own projects and coordinate delivery with the team.
• Review and approve designs and liaise with clients.
• Conduct site surveys and prepare reports.
• Prepare tenders and fee proposals.
• Develop client relationships.
