Job summary

Cala Consulting is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer in Belfast to lead delivery of highway and drainage projects from feasibility to construction. You will manage design teams, review reports and coordinate with clients and planners.

The role offers flexible working arrangements, professional development, and chartership support, with opportunities to contribute to varied infrastructure schemes across NI.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Chartered status or working towards Chartership (ICE / Engineers Ireland).
• Experience delivering infrastructure and development-led projects for public and private clients.
• Strong knowledge of drainage and highways design concepts.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil engineering design from feasibility through construction delivery.
• Prepare and review reports, drawings, calculations and documentation.
• Coordinate statutory approvals including Private Street Determination and Article 161 submissions.
• Produce detailed designs for highways and drainage infrastructure.
• Create 3D ground models and perform cut-and-fill analyses with Civil 3D.
• Mentor junior engineers and maintain client relationships throughout lifecycles.
