Job description

Civil & Structural Engineering, Transport Infrastructure

(BST: 8:00 - 18:00 (Mon/Thurs) 8:00 - 16:00 (Fri))

Access Talent is currently working with a medium-sized employee-owned consultancy who are looking to grow their team and are after a Senior Civil Engineering Drainage team in 5 offices in Scotland and one in England. This is an opportunity to work for a consultancy that is getting increasingly busy with a pipeline of projects that would turn heads of many engineers.

What is unique about this opportunity is that each day will be very varied. With workload being spread across 5 offices you will be working on plenty of different projects with a large inflow. Some projects that are coming up include working on the Edinburgh Museum as well as the Edinburgh Castle. There is a mix of conservation projects as well as new builds up to the value of £100m. The new build properties are larger scale residential properties as well as one-off luxury houses. They have branched into the active travel space with a bias on the drainage design for these projects.

Requirements

  • Degree in civil engineering or similar
  • IEng acquired and working towards or have gained CEng status.

Responsibilities

  • Mentoring and supporting the development of the Civils Team.
  • Managing and producing technical documents.
  • Supporting the team with project delivery.
  • Development of engineering solutions and presentation of engineering options.
  • Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the budget for projects including the planning, monitoring, and reporting of project resources.
  • Provide technical input to the pricing of project briefs, proposals, and deliverables.
  • The Ideal Candidate will have:
  • Experience in highways, access roads and temporary/enabling works design, undertake due diligence, feasibility studies, conceptual optioneering, detailed design both pre and post planning and design and build through construction.
  • Auto CAD, Civil 3D and Microdrainage experience.
  • Great knowledge of the Design manual of Roads and Bridges (DMRB).

Benefits

  • Market leading salary
  • Employee owned.
  • 2 company bonuses – tax and national insurance free.
  • Private medical and health insurance.
  • 35 hours a week.
  • International company holiday once a year.
