Job summary

Aldwych Consulting in Liverpool is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to deliver infrastructure and development-led design for education, commercial, healthcare and residential sectors. You will lead projects, mentor junior engineers, and take ownership from feasibility through construction.

The role requires a degree in Civil Engineering, UK design standards experience, and strong client liaison skills. You will work in a multidisciplinary team, produce drainage and highway designs, and help grow

Qualifications

• A degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong experience in civil/infrastructure design within a UK consultancy environment.
• Experience delivering development-led infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of drainage, highways and general infrastructure design.
• Experience using industry software such as Civil 3D, InfoDrainage, MicroDrainage, InfraWorks, Site3D, PDS or Flow.
• Good knowledge of UK standards, legislation and adoption processes.
• Ideally working towards or holding IEng, CEng, MICE, CIWEM or equivalent.
• Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers.
• Strong communication and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of civil infrastructure designs for development and masterplanning projects.
• Produce and review detailed drainage designs per standards and SuDS.
• Design highways and access roads per UK codes and adoption requirements.
• Take projects from feasibility and planning through to detailed design and construction.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, drawings and supporting documentation.
• Liaise with clients, local authorities and stakeholders.
• Review designs for technical quality and compliance.
• Support project management, programme and resource planning.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.
• Contribute to growth and development of the civil engineering team.
