Senior Civil Engineer

Location: Colchester, United Kingdom

Salary: £40,000 - £55,000

Job Description:

Our client is seeking a bright, enthusiastic, and open-minded individual to join their friendly team in Colchester, leading their Drainage Infrastructure team. You will work within a dynamic team, overseen by an Associate Director, to deliver civil engineering designs on various challenging projects across the infrastructure sector, focusing on SuDS and surface water drainage design.

The role includes:
  • Proficiency in 3D design and modelling using MicroDrainage and/or InfoDrainage;
  • Handling Water Authority statutory approval processes such as S104, S106;
  • Securing SuDS Approval Body approval;
  • Understanding of National Planning Policy and infrastructure design requirements related to flood risk management;
  • Managing a team with varying experience levels, providing technical support and resource planning in line with Integrated Management Systems;
  • Managing multiple projects, prioritising tasks to ensure effective client delivery;
  • Maintaining relationships with statutory bodies;
  • Working independently with a methodical approach.
About you:
  • 7+ years' experience in surface and foul water design and/or construction, familiar with Sewers for Adoption and Design Manual for Roads and Bridges;
  • Civil Engineering degree, preferably a Masters;
  • Near completion or holding a Professional Qualification with ICE or CIWEM;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
