Qualifications

We have an opening for a Senior Civil Engineer to join our client's expanding Kent office. This is an exciting opportunity to join an award-winning consultancy who's work typically ranges from small-scale refurbishments and extensions to large-scale new build in all areas from residential, education, healthcare and arts to commercial, sports, infrastructure and ports.

Across the company, they are specialists in buildings, heritage engineering, civil and infrastructure engineering, marine projects, pre-planning advice, and temporary works.

In this role, you will take responsibility for the design and coordination of a wide range of civil engineering projects, working closely with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams. The role involves both technical expertise and management, providing opportunities to mentor junior colleagues and contribute to the growth of the practice.

The role

  • To undertake the design of highways, junctions, and foul and surface water drainage systems
  • To be able to work on hydraulic modelling, cut and fill analysis, and infrastructure coordination
  • You'll be required to liaise with clients, statutory bodies, and other professionals
  • You will attend in-house and external meetings
  • Throughout your time, you will support and mentor junior members of staff.

What you need to succeed

  • We are ideally looking for someone with 5 years or more in civil engineering design on UK projects
  • Ideally, you should be a Chartered Engineer status (ICE or equivalent) or working towards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills & proven ability to collaborate and support team development
  • We'd like someone to have experience in hydraulic modelling, and experienced in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • You must have a strong understanding of relevant design standards and best practice & with S278, S38, S104, and S185 agreements
  • Demonstrated experience working with statutory bodies and external stakeholders
