Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to support water and infrastructure projects on a contract basis. The role focuses on civil design across flood risk, drainage, river engineering, flood alleviation schemes and reservoir projects, with flexible hybrid working available.

The successful candidate will design and deliver civil packages, provide technical input across drainage and river works, and work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure designs meet UK standards and project

Qualifications

• Significant UK consultancy experience in civil engineering and the water sector.
• Strong design experience in flood risk, drainage, river engineering or flood alleviation schemes.
• Experience leading or delivering civil design packages.

Key Responsibilities:

• Designing and delivering civil engineering packages for water and flood risk projects
• Providing technical input across drainage, river engineering and flood alleviation schemes
• Supporting the design and development of reservoir-related projects
• Leading or coordinating civil design packages from concept through to delivery
• Preparing technical reports, drawings, specifications and design documentation
• Working collaboratively with engineers, project teams, clients and external stakeholders
• Ensuring designs comply with relevant UK standards, regulations and project requirements

Job Requirements:

• Significant UK consultancy experience within civil engineering and the water sector
• Strong experience in the design of flood risk, drainage, river engineering or flood alleviation schemes
• Understanding of reservoir projects and water-related infrastructure
• Experience designing, leading or delivering civil design packages
• Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and report-writing abilities
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary consultancy environment
• Availability to start in the near term, with the contract suitable for work inside or outside scope
