About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to manage a variety of technically challenging projects from inception to completion. You will report to the Partner/Associate and will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered efficiently on time, and to the highest standards. This role offers the opportunity to lead, mentor, and collaborate with a talented team.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the production and management of civil engineering projects with guidance from the Partner/Associate.
- Develop project management plans, financial documents, reports, calculations, and PDS/Civil 3D models.
- Prepare Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies tailored to client needs.
- Lead and manage project resources effectively.
- Make informed technical and commercial decisions to mitigate risks, with support from the Project Partner.
- Communicate effectively with clients and co-professionals through meetings and conference calls.
- Delegate tasks, monitor progress, and provide training and mentorship to team members.
Key Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 4-5 years plus of UK engineering consultancy experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in PDS, Micro Drainage, and AutoCAD (preferably Civils 3D).
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant standards and regulations, including Manual for Streets, Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB), Sewers for Adoption, SUDS Manual, National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF).
- Regulations Compliance: Knowledge of CDM Regulations.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to plan, manage, and optimize both personal and team effectiveness.
- Communication Skills: Confident in delivering presentations to internal teams and external clients.
- Commercial Awareness: Understanding of professional risks, including compliance with appointments, warranties, and insurance terms.
