Job summary

A well-known design consultancy based in Central London is seeking a civil engineering professional for a long-term contract role. The position is outside IR35 and offers benefits including flexible and hybrid working arrangements. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing knowledge in civil engineering, liaising with stakeholders, and preparing Flood Risk Assessments. This role requires experience with MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage, and Civil 3D, along with strong report writing skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in the use of MicroDrainage and Civil 3D.
• Ability to develop SuDS strategies for urban developments.
• Experience in preparing Flood Risk Assessments.
• Detailed design of external hard landscaping pavement design.
• Detailed design of Section 38 and 278 highway works (beneficial).
• Design of flood compensation schemes in undefended high-risk flood zones (beneficial).
• Detailed design of site-wide levels strategies.
• Site-wide volumetric earthworks analysis (cut and fill).
• Below-ground drainage networks with SuDS elements and subterrain basement drainage.

Responsibilities

The role:

• Demonstrate good development of knowledge in civil engineering and development infrastructure.
• The successful candidate would be encouraged to develop skills in liaison with stakeholders, local authorities and highways officers.
• Report writing skills (FRA, drainage strategy, specification etc.)

What you need to succeed:

• Experience in the use of MicroDrainage and / or InfoDrainage) and Civil 3D.
• Developing SuDS strategies for complex urban developments.
• The preparation of Flood Risk Assessments across all flood zones.
• The detailed design and specification of external hard landscaping pavement design.
• The detailed design of Section 38 and 278 highway works, beneficial but not essential.
• The design and negotiation of flood compensation schemes in undefended high-risk flood zones, beneficial but not essential.
• The detailed design of site-wide levels strategies.
• The preparation of site-wide volumetric earthworks analysis (cut and fill)
• The detailed design of below ground drainage networks, including blue and green SuDS elements and subterrain basement drainage
