Senior Civil Engineer/Technician

Type: Permanent, Full Time, office based

Join an award-winning Civil and Structural Engineering consultancy seeking a skilled Civil Engineer to lead and deliver infrastructure solutions across a broad portfolio of public and private sector projects, including residential, commercial, housing, and ExtraCare developments.

You will play a key role in managing and delivering technically sound civil engineering services from feasibility through to detailed design and construction. You’ll apply your expertise in highways, drainage, SuDS, Flood Risk Assessments, and earthworks to produce design calculations, drawings, reports, and site appraisals. You’ll work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of high-quality, compliant, and cost-effective solutions, on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver detailed designs and technical documentation for highways and drainage systems
  • Lead on planning submissions and technical approvals
  • Carry out site assessments, Flood Risk Assessments, and SuDS strategies
  • Use software including AutoCAD, MicroDrainage/Flow, Civil 3D, PDS/Causeway Live, and AutoTrack
  • Collaborate with junior engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance and mentoring

Requirements:

  • Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering with 2+ years’ experience in consultancy
  • In-depth knowledge of UK design codes and planning procedures
  • Strong understanding of residential development design standards
  • Self-starter with excellent communication skills and the ability to mentor others
  • Full UK driving licence (advantageous)
