To strengthen our Northern Region team, we are recruiting for a permanent Senior Engineer to initially work on a series of debris screen projects in Nottinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Derbyshire, and Leicestershire. This includes the replacement, modification, and removal of existing screen structures as per accepted detailed design. The candidate will need experience in progress reports, compiling and maintaining quality assurance records, as well as design coordination and temporary works coordination.

You will need to provide overall control for the technical aspects of the project, including monitoring and coordinating design changes. You should have an overall grasp of works quality, ensuring that works are constructed in line with the project specifications, and that ITP plans/records are produced and kept up to date in line with project progress.

Main Duties:

  1. Undertake day-to-day setting out duties with no supervision.
  2. Train, manage, and mentor Junior Engineers.
  3. Manage and monitor all site sample/performance testing requirements and maintain records in line with the contract specification.
  4. Complete hazard/risk assessments and method statements.
  5. Manage site service plans/drawings and issue permits accordingly.
  6. Assist the site QS / Project Manager with providing relevant information for records and claims purposes.
  7. Monitor and control temporary works.
  8. Develop and maintain relations with clients, suppliers, and sub-contractors.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Main contractor experience on heavy civils schemes.
  • Experience in progress reports, quality records (ITPs, site diaries, inspection records), design coordination, and temporary works coordination.
  • CSCS card and a suitable civil engineering qualification (minimum HND).
  • A First Aid certificate, SMSTS, and a Degree in Civil Engineering are desirable.
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel throughout the Northern Region.
