Senior Civil Drainage Engineer
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Civil Drainage Engineer to join a dynamic multi-disciplinary consultancy based in Bristol. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with extensive knowledge in below ground drainage, highway design, and flood risk assessments, seeking a challenging yet rewarding position.

Role Overview
As a Senior Civil Drainage Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and delivering a wide range of civil engineering projects. You will be responsible for leading drainage and highway design work (including Section 104, 38 and 278 agreements), supporting junior engineers, and liaising with clients and stakeholders across various sectors.

Key Responsibilities
·Deliver detailed drainage and highway designs in accordance with UK standards.
·Prepare and oversee drainage strategies, flood risk assessments, and adoption drawings.
·Lead project design and assessments, ensuring timely and high-quality output.
·Use software such as WinDes (MicroDrainage), AutoCAD, and Civil 3D for design and modelling.
·Undertake vertical and horizontal highway alignment layouts.
·Conduct Cut and Fill analysis and surface modelling.
·Coordinate with external consultants, contractors, and internal project teams.
·Ensure adherence to Health & Safety, environmental, and QA/QC standards.
·Mentor and supervise technicians and support staff.

Essential Requirements
·Experience in UK-based highways and drainage engineering.
·Proficient in storm and foul water drainage design using WinDes/MicroDrainage.
·Skilled in AutoCAD and Civil 3D; experience with Autotrack is a plus.
·Demonstrable experience in SuDS design and ground modelling.
·Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise at all levels.
·Competence in writing technical reports and producing detailed design drawings.
·Working knowledge of UK adoption processes (Sections 104, 38, and 278).
·Experience in managing multiple priorities and delivering to tight deadlines.
·Working towards chartership with a recognised professional body (e.g., ICE).
