Alexander Associates is recruiting a Senior Civil Design Engineer to lead civil design tasks for water and wastewater projects delivered remotely across the UK. You will develop designs, calculations, layouts and technical documentation, coordinate with Process, Mechanical, EICA, Structural and Commissioning teams, and mentor junior engineers.

The role focuses on safe, sustainable, buildable solutions that meet budgets and programmes while maintaining strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in civil engineering design within water or wastewater utilities.
• Experience producing civil calculations, reports, drawings and design documentation.
• Ability to lead, check and mentor engineers within a civil discipline.
• Chartered or working toward Chartership preferred.

Responsabilités

• Lead civil design tasks and packages to technical standards, budgets and programmes.
• Develop civil designs, layouts, specifications and documentation for water/wastewater projects.
• Produce cost-effective civil solutions considering constructability and whole-life costs.
• Review and assure civil design outputs for quality and compliance.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design activities to support integrated delivery.
• Identify and manage technical risks and opportunities for optimisation.
• Support design of civil infrastructure including structures, drainage, pipelines and earthworks.
• Mentor junior engineers, graduates and apprentices, sharing knowledge across the team.
• Build strong relationships with clients, leads and project teams.
