Senior Civil Design Engineer – Water | Contract – Manchester (Hybrid) | Outside IR35

CETO Talent is working with a rapidly growing design consultancy in the UK’s utilities and water infrastructure sector. We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Design Engineer to join their team.

This role involves working on high-impact clean and wastewater projects, supporting infrastructure upgrades across the region.

Sector: Water & Utilities

Start Date: ASAP

Responsibilities:

• Deliver safe, efficient, and compliant civil design packages for water projects
• Identify design solutions from scopes and site visits, and communicate effectively with clients and teams
• Support and develop junior designers and CAD technicians
• Prepare risk assessments, design reports, and specifications
• Ensure compliance with water company and technical standards
• Estimate design hours and present at review meetings
• Maintain accurate documentation of design changes

Requirements:

• Strong background in water sector civil design (clean and/or dirty water)
• Graduate, HND, or significant experience via technician route
• Proficiency in engineering drawing practices and software
• Understanding of construction methods and site processes
• Registered with a professional body, ideally working towards chartership
• Clear, confident communication skills and solutions-focused mindset
