This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Chiller Engineer in the United Kingdom.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge HVAC systems, providing expert service and support to a diverse range of customers. As a Senior Chiller Engineer, you will play a key part in troubleshooting, maintaining, and commissioning advanced industrial water chillers. You will work both independently and as part of a team, tackling complex technical challenges and ensuring customer satisfaction. The position also includes opportunities to mentor junior engineers, contribute to training initiatives, and act as a subject-matter expert in specialized areas. This is a dynamic role for an experienced engineer seeking growth, responsibility, and the chance to work on industry-leading equipment.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshooting, servicing, and commissioning a wide range of chillers, including air-cooled, water-cooled, screw, scroll, centrifugal, and reciprocating systems.
- Diagnosing and repairing both electrical and mechanical faults, interpreting wiring diagrams, P&ID, and pressure enthalpy diagrams.
- Responding efficiently to service calls, conducting risk assessments, and delivering clear service reports via digital platforms.
- Providing technical support on installations, breakdowns, and maintenance tasks.
- Commissioning both standard and large-capacity chillers, ensuring compliance with installation standards.
- Acting as a subject-matter expert in advanced areas such as centrifugal compressor rebuilds, absorption chillers, and sequencing controls.
- Supporting and mentoring junior engineers and apprentices, and contributing to training sessions.
- Maintaining strict compliance with F-Gas regulations and health & safety procedures.
Qualifications
- City & Guilds Qualification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.
- F-Gas Category 1 certification.
- HNC/ONC in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (preferred).
- Solid experience with Carrier and other manufacturers’ chillers and equipment.
- Strong ability to troubleshoot complex commercial and industrial HVAC systems.
- Full UK Driving Licence (or equivalent).
- In-depth understanding of refrigeration circuits, thermodynamics, and control systems.
- Prior experience in a Technician or Engineer role within the HVAC industry.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer-facing skills.
