Job description

Are you passionate about working with children and young people? Do you have a real passion for the social, emotional, and mental wellbeing needs of our young people?

Do you have a minimum of 2 years experience working with children, young people, and their families around social, emotional, and mental health needs? Do you hold a professional qualification, registration, or belong to a recognized governing body?

We are looking to recruit a Senior Child Wellbeing Practitioner to our Hull CWP team, who is enthusiastic, kind, compassionate, and resilient, with experience of supporting others to develop.

We seek a Practitioner who has experience of working with multi-disciplinary professionals to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people (CYP) and families and can evidence an understanding of CBT-based interventions.

The role will require the individual to be an identified lead within the CWP team and work closely with other early intervention and Early Help services.

The successful candidate will also hold a small caseload across the CWP to work systemically to create sustainable change for children, young people, and families.

As a Senior Practitioner, the successful candidate will work as part of the CWP team to support and empower Education, Health, Early Help, and Social Care to work as one system to support CYP and families with their social, emotional, and mental health needs.

Main Duties:
  1. Support the CWP team's Team Lead and other colleagues in providing a low-intensity Psychological therapies service for children, young people, and their families within Hull City.
  2. Oversee the formulation and intervention plans for parents, children, and young people being supported by the Child Wellbeing Practitioners (CWPs) using a range of specialist psychological interventions appropriate to the service; individual and groups.
  3. Work in partnership with services throughout the city to support children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties and their families in the self-management of presenting difficulties.
  4. Support the CWPs to liaise with other education, health, social care, and voluntary community sector staff from a range of agencies in the care provided to children, young people, their families, and professionals and to signpost to other services where appropriate.
  5. Support CWPs in the co-delivery of training sessions, group, and individual interventions.
  6. Assess and deliver outcome-focused, evidence-based interventions to children, young people, and families experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties.

We are an award-winning and CQC rated good health and social care Trust delivering integrated services across Hull, East, and North Yorkshire. We are a forward-thinking and dynamic Trust with a real commitment to staff development. We value our colleagues and invest in them to ensure they have the right skills to deliver outstanding care.

We recognize the positive value of diversity and promote equality whilst challenging discrimination. We welcome and encourage job applications from people of all backgrounds.

Work-life balance is about having influence and flexibility over when, where, and how you work. If the work pattern for this role does not meet your needs, we welcome an application and are happy to discuss working arrangements that differ from those advertised.

We offer a unique range of benefits that go above and beyond other NHS Trusts including an enhanced leave package and health and wellbeing support.
