  • Work as part of a caring team to provide a safe and nurturing environment, promoting the positive development of young people.
  • Support the day-to-day management of the home in a professional and competent manner, assisting the Service Manager in delivering the highest quality care.
  • Lead and support colleagues to deliver therapeutic care tailored to each child's needs, fostering recovery, growth, and lasting change.
  • Act as a positive role model for children and colleagues, building trusting relationships to meet everyday living needs.
  • Record events, observations, and progress reports, contributing to the preparation and implementation of care plans.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding procedures and organisational policies to promote the welfare of young people.
  • Work flexibly, covering long day shifts, weekends, and sleep-in duties (approx. 4-8 per month).

Candidate Requirements

  • Essential: Minimum of 12 months' experience in children's residential care or knowledge of child-centred, therapeutic models.
  • Essential: Level 3 qualification in Caring for Children and Young People (CYPW) or Residential Childcare.
  • Essential: Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Strong communication skills and a naturally caring, flexible, and resilient approach.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, young people, and external professionals.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Flexibility to work long day shifts, weekends, and sleep-in duties as required.
