Job summary

Barnsley Council is seeking an experienced children’s social worker for the Waythrough partnership in Barnsley. The post focuses on safeguarding and innovative, relationship-based practice with families affected by substance use.

Responsibilities

• Offering consultation, guidance and support to colleagues in relation to safeguarding children.
• Engaging and working with young people who use substances and alcohol using relationship and evidence-based interventions.
• Undertaking direct work with parents and carers who use substances and alcohol to develop understanding of impact and safety planning.
• Contribute to plans and intervention for children open to social care where needs are identified.
• Collaborating with young people, families and professionals to achieve positive outcomes.
