Job summary

Cheshire East Council is recruiting experienced children’s social workers to join a service focused on relationships, strengths and restorative practice. You’ll influence practice, support colleagues and help keep children safe and thriving within their families and communities.

The role centres on complex safeguarding, early intervention and collaborative multi‑agency work, with opportunities for ongoing professional development and career progression.

Qualifications

• You’ll be a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England, with a minimum of three years’ post-qualifying experience in children’s social work.
• Confident in managing complex statutory social work and safeguarding practice with evidence-based decision making.
• Able to build relationships across agencies, be reflective and committed to continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex and high-risk cases across Child in Need, Child Protection and Cared for Children.
• Undertake high-quality, analytical assessments and develop outcomes-focused plans.
• Lead safeguarding interventions and contribute to multi-agency planning and decision-making.
• Mentor less experienced social workers and support practice development across the team.
• Contribute to reflective practice, learning and continuous service improvement.
