Qualifications

• Must have extensive experience of managing a complex caseload involving child protection issues.
• Demonstrates significant experience in developing and/or delivering training packages.
• Extensive experience in a nursing environment is required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a high-quality safeguarding service as part of a specialist team.
• Participate in risk assessments for children at risk of harm.
• Support frontline practitioners in developing reports and safeguarding plans.

Skills

Highly developed specialist knowledge and understanding of government legislation relevant to vulnerable children

Good verbal/written communication skills

Excellent time management skills

Ability to work under own initiative

Ability to facilitate and manage change

Ability to lead and motivate others

Evidence of previous safeguarding experience

Experience of multi-agency working

Education

Registered nurse with current NMC registration

Evidence of recent post basic training and on-going personal development

Teaching qualification or equivalent

Evidence of on-going training and relevant courses in safeguarding
