Job summary

Ardent Social Ltd in Grantham is recruiting an experienced Advanced Practitioner to join the Children’s Safeguarding team. Based in Grantham, you will assess children and families, support those subject to Child Protection and CIN plans, and prepare reports for court proceedings.

The role is temporary/full-time with office-based weeks and a structured schedule. The team covers South Kesteven and surrounding rural areas; office parking is free, and you will work with partner agencies to ensure

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ post-qualifying experience in a frontline safeguarding role.
• Experience completing Section 47 investigations.
• Experience working with Child Protection and Child in Need Plans.
• Experience preparing assessments and reports for court proceedings.
• Ability to manage cases from referral through to closure or care proceedings.
• Social Work qualification and professional registration.

Responsibilities

• Complete assessments of children and families where safeguarding concerns have been identified, ensuring appropriate intervention and effective case management.
• Support children subject to Child Protection and Child in Need Plans, ensuring their needs and welfare remain central to practice.
• Prepare high-quality assessments and reports for court proceedings.
• Case management from referral through to closure, or through CIN, Child Protection and Care Proceedings where required, maintaining continuity of Social Worker throughout the case.
• Undertake Section 47 investigations as required, using appropriate safeguarding practice and professional judgement.
• Work effectively with children, families and partner agencies to support informed decision-making and positive outcomes.
• Participate in the four-weekly duty system, with one week allocated to duty responsibilities and availability to accept new cases and undertake initial visits.
• Work from the Grantham office during duty weeks, with two to three days in the office during other weeks.
