Une école à Chelmsford recherche un Senior Childcare Officer pour un poste permanent à temps plein à partir d'août 2025. Are you an experienced childcare professional ready to take on a new leadership role? A school in Chelmsford is seeking a dedicated Senior Childcare Officer to join their SEMH provision from August 2025.

In this full-time, permanent post, you'll play a vital part in creating a safe, supportive and structured environment for children and young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

You will lead and coordinate the daily care of students, working closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external agencies to ensure the highest standards of wellbeing and safeguarding.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead day-to-day care and supervision of pupils in school and during transitions
  • Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing, and resilience
  • Manage and mentor childcare support staff
  • Support the delivery of tailored learning and personal development plans
  • Liaise with external professionals and parents/carers
  • Safeguard pupils through clear processes and recording
  • Contribute to school policies and improvement of care provision

Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant Level 3+ Childcare qualification or equivalent
  • Strong experience working with children/young people with SEMH needs
  • Proven leadership/coordination experience within a care or education setting
  • Sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Calm, positive, and resilient approach to challenging behaviour
  • Passion for improving outcomes for vulnerable children and young people
