Overview

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Band 7 Chemotherapy Nurse to join our haematology and infusion service. This is a senior clinical leadership role within a dynamic and supportive team, delivering high-quality, patient-centred care to individuals undergoing treatment for haematological cancers.

Our unit specialises in chemotherapy for haematological malignancies, as well as blood transfusions and other non-cancer infusions. The successful candidate will bring expert knowledge in systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT), ensuring safe administration of treatment, adherence to national guidelines, and high standards of infection control.

You will provide clinical leadership, support, and mentorship to a predominantly junior nursing team, helping to build a safe and positive learning environment. The role also involves working with the wider multidisciplinary team to support service development, audits, and quality improvement.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced chemotherapy nurse to help shape the future of a growing specialist service.

Key responsibilities
  • Delivering and overseeing the safe administration of chemotherapy and other intravenous therapies
  • Leading the unit’s clinical standards and ensuring best practice is maintained
  • Supporting, supervising, and developing junior staff through education and mentorship
  • Contributing to service audits, clinical governance, and quality improvement
  • Working collaboratively with medical and allied health professionals to ensure seamless patient care
