SRG is looking to recruit a Deputy Senior Chemist to join our client's team in Ayrshire. The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Chemist to ensure the delivery of an effective and high-quality analytical service, meeting reporting deadlines for various samples and commodities submitted for analysis. They will also support daily management of the chemistry lab.

The Role:

1. Perform analytical methods and standard operating procedures independently, ensuring precision and accuracy to provide high-quality analytical services.
2. Develop and validate methods within the chemistry section using analytical techniques such as GCMS, ICPMS, and IC.
3. Ensure compliance with ISO 17025 accreditation, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 standards.
4. Work hours are 7:30 to 15:30, Monday to Friday, with potential shift changes on a rotational basis.

Requirements:

1. Extensive experience in a laboratory analytical environment.
2. Preferably experienced with ICPMS.
3. Experience in managing personnel.
4. Ability to plan and execute method development and validation.
5. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
6. Ability to mentor, coach, train, and provide technical support.
7. Effective team leadership skills.
8. Highly organized with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
9. Strong focus on quality and excellence.
10. Proficient in Microsoft and Google applications.
11. HNC or HND in Science or related field, or equivalent qualification.
