Job summary

The King's School in Canterbury is seeking an experienced Senior Chef to join our busy Catering Team. This hands-on role combines food preparation and service with leading and supporting kitchen staff to ensure high-quality meals for pupils, staff and guests.

You will work closely with the Catering Manager to maintain food safety standards, manage stock, and contribute to menu planning in a fast-paced, professional environment.

Qualifications

• Significant experience as a chef in a busy professional catering environment.
• Excellent practical cooking skills and strong knowledge of food hygiene and safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the kitchen team, supporting colleagues and motivating staff.
• Deliver high-quality food preparation, presentation, hygiene and cleanliness across the School.
• Assist with menu development, stock control, ordering, deliveries and food safety records.
